Presenter: Tom Kellermann, Vice President of Security Awareness
Date: July 28, 2009
Location: Unisys Global c-ESP COP Meeting
Abstract:
According to the DNI the Digital Insider attack vector has increased by more than 50% in the past year. The persistent, clandestine presence of our nation’s cyber-adversaries must be managed. In today’s hostile environment of the Internet preserving the layered security of the cyber castle and building an effective prison around the digital insider is tantamount to defense in depth. The “Origins of the Digital Insider” will entail a discussion of the primary Attack vectors and techniques utilized to compromise .gov networks and remain persistent within those networks. The presentation will address best practice as it relates to red-teaming exercises to harden the cyber infrastructure against persistent internal threats.
